Being outsmarted by big business

While we feel so empowered by being able to book airfare online, pick our seats and even print our own boarding passes, exactly how much money are we saving the airlines? Paper and ink not used, people sitting in kiosks twiddling their thumbs waiting for someone to come in and ask for their services...how much does this relate in dollas ans cents?

This is just stuff running around inside my head as my thoughts circle around the family drama in NB. Wish I could do more...sigh
