Dog & Pony show

Doctors...it's so hard to get an appointment with your family doctor and when you are on meds, your schedule goes around when the prescription needs to reissued.  So you get the appointment which is the second last day of pills and 30 minutes before the appointment, the clinic calls saying the DR has an emergency!

But...

The pharmacy can write a temporary prescription for a few pills until you see your doctor.  Sounds easy.

Nope...

Apparently the pharmacy has so many hoops to jump through...including taking a history, checking your BP etc...they throw the onus back on you to see a doctor, any doctor and get them to write the script.  What is the sense then of that new legislation?  Waste of everyone's time from my PoV.

End of story...got a quick last minute appointment with back up doctor (Covers the primary on vacation etc) reviewed blood work - all looking real good and got a new prescription.  Marking the calendar for 100 days from now for a repeat of this exercise in frustration.

This morning I called to book an appt with my doctor. I have 3 weeks to get my prescription refilled and the soonest he can see me is June 2. So, my option is to have the pharmacist send a prescription refill request to my doctor who can fill it for the 2 months I'll need and only for a nominal fee of TWENTY DOLLARS.
Nice.
