A great Christmas gift for me was the latest Nancy Drew adventure. I can remember being in heaven one year when I got 3 different titles. Mom knew where I was - on my bed, reading!
Then this past fall, my darling Joe gifted me with an ebook and that has opened a whole new avenue. I can take it with me for those times when I have to wait. I can instantly pick up where I left off and just as easily bookmark it for the next reading session, whether it be a mini or maxi one! I still like paper books, visiting the library and wandering the stacks for something new & exciting.
I recently read the Frost/Nixon interview and was surprised to hear that Ron Howard had directed the movie version. Not sure how he's going to bring Nixon to life, but it may be a good movie to catch for all you history buffs.
I just finished Iris Johansen's Pandora's Daughter and that brought me into a foreign world of Listeners, Hearers and such. I was never one for fantasy but I seem to be slowly enveloping the new concept.
Lesley so kindly lend me Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveller's Wife which is set to be released as a movie in 2009. I'm slowly going through the whole time travel concept and could easily put the book down unread except for the opening passage which keeps drawing me back. To paraphrase...Clare says "It's hard being left behind...It's hard to be the one who stays." The author has captured my feelings all those times that Joe went away...29 years of international travel for military/work. I think I'll have this for a while before I get through it...my mind races off into personal directions and it's hard to get back on track.
A book I will be re reading shortly is Life on the Refrigerator Door by Alice Kuipers. Heather gave me this last year and its message is quite relevant today as life unfolds before us.

I read at least 3 books a week and could give you some great titles, what kinda books do you enjoy most? I'll read anything by Nora Roberts ( not so much her alter ego under the pen name JD Robb ) and have recently become a fan of Wendy Corsi Staub. Let me know of any titles you think I may enjoy as well, I love a good mystery and also fantasy/other world stories.

i just saw Twilight...i think i'm gonna pester Jeff Jeff to get me the books...it was really good...and the movie left me wanting more...a great thing for a series of 4 books...

I agree with Krista on the whole Nora Roberts thing I just finished her trilogy 7 signs. Eddie really enjoys James Rollin, he does secrect service type books that take you on adventre all over the world. Even with the boys I still read quie a bit too.
I couldn't survive without my books. I'm now reading the new J.D.Robb titled "Salvation In Death" .. VERY light reading but just what I needed when I started it last week. I'll get back to Ken Follett's "World Without End" during the holidays.
We are also a family that loves to read. kelsey and Caitlynn read every day, and it isn't because they have to. They just can't seem to get enough books. I just bought Cait "Twilight" and she loves it. You never know, Santa Tawse may get her the others.
I also love quiet reading time. I think my most loved book was "Angela's Ashes: A Memoir. by Frant McCourt. I also really enjoyed "Glass House" but I don't remember the author, but she was Canadian.
I'm all about Jodi Picoult! I've pre-ordered some of her newer releases and forgot about them and have ended up with two copies of the same book.
I read a lot. Mostly suspense books, Jenn reads a lot of Maeve Binchy books. They're general fiction and an easy read.
