Oops...forgot to update the Blog!

My apologizes...I guess I just got caught up in life! We had a marvelous weekend, 2 BBQ suppers and lots of sunshine. The boys had 1 day of snowboarding and another of plain old tobogganing. I guess you are never too old!

The latest round of paperwork had begun on Dad's behalf. I will be glad when it's all done but realize that this will take as much time as it takes. In other words, it's a marathon not a sprint.

Slowly the donations are rolling in for T & T's fundraiser late Feb. Check it out! I picked up a few great books from Hole's. I'll be penciling them in for a bod or 2 or 3! Can't have too many gardening books, especially an autographed one!

Speaking of gardening, I'll be putting in my order soon, going to consult with Jo next door and see if she wants to split a few packs of seeds. That way we can try more varieties! Win win in my eyes.

Kevin is writing semester 1 exams...all 2 of them, 8 days apart. He sure does have a clean room! The next term begins Feb 2 and it's going to be a challenge - no spares and no basket weaving type classes. Lots of science and math! Kevin would like a part time job so he can get some things on his wish list...snowboard, golf clubs, etc, but we will wait and see how he adjusts to the brain drain first. I wouldn't want him to start a job with training and then have to walk away from it. That is not fair to the employer. But Uncle Joe has a different take on it...if your marks drop, you'll have to get a second job and if they still drop, a third job until you can learn to work harder! Glad he wasn't my parent! Sorry Joe!

Busy weekend ahead...double date with friends and we are going to take in STOMP and then go for a late dinner. Sunday we are driving down to see the girls...Les is hosting a SU Open House and I have a little something to drop off for Heather..and check out her new-to-her store!

Hope you are all well!

Busy but unproductive days

When I look back, I wonder what did I DO last week?

We are still trying to locate Kevin's bag in the land of Greyhound. I finally got to talk to a real person instead of all those machines and she has put a trace on the bag. I'm hoping Gwen works today and can give me an update. Let's face it, $100 liability doesn't even come close to replacing the bag and contents. And there's no choice...everything goes under the bus...no carry on.

I'm still plugging away at the quilt. I'm out of my comfort zone...I like black background because any colour you use, pops. I'm not sure about this combination but I did get some fun prints on Friday...maybe that will do the trick. The blocks are quite easy and fun to make.

Kevin shovelled out the BBQ on Saturday and Joe cooked the steaks. It was a real nice treat in the midst of a cold winter. Brian missed the meal, made some serious coin working though.

I got re-connected with a family friend who left a message on Dad's guest book. Gone but Not Forgotten
Tim Clark is the son of dear friends of Mom & Dad's but with the moves, we lost touch. Tim is doing very well and so generously offered to help me identify some folks in a few old camp photos of Dad's. It's like dad is helping me close the loop on some of my questions!

Last night was the return of JACK! Loved the suspense...as the clocking was ticking I was anxious for the next segment. Love the return of an evil Tony...lots of tension.

Joe picked up an early Valentine's Day gift...I got him more chrome for the bike...battery cover this time. I figured with the bike show next weekend, the in stock accessories will be flying off the shelves. and I'd rather pay the 2008 prices. I'm hoping to find the adapter for my eReader in store soon at Sony Canada. Joe's credit card will get a mini workout for sure.

How can Heather be 33 if I'm only 28?

Heather actually called ME on her birthday, but it was business related...and yes dear, it showed up the following day. thanks! We are still working out the details of her birthday present...haggling really! But her Daddy is such a pushover!

Birthday!

I received birthday wishes from far and near...the nephews, sister, MIL, SIL, cousin, DD and a SAL friend in Australia! If I didn't list you, don't fret...the day is still young, even if I'm not! lol
Joe treated me to a lovely Sunday brunch at Hotel McDonald...Then I got a book I had wanted...my series is complete to all publications!

Thanks everyone for all the best wishes...it's going to be an incredible year!
