Slipping back into routines

There's nothing quite like the mundane to keep a person grounded in reality. Things like cleaning out the refrigerator and garbage day. Both holidays fell on our regularly scheduled pick up day, so they bumped it back a day. With travels we missed the first post Christmas pickup making today's bin full to the top. That almost never happens unless we are doing some serious purging or a home reno project. If we can break things down to fit the bin. it's picked up curbside. Otherwise we have to haul it to the dump and pay extra fees.

For the past 18 months or so, we've had curbside recycle pick up. I'm not sure I like that. Prior to this service we had a central recycle centre and could drop our presorted stuff off 24 - 7. Now I have to collect for a week or in this case 2 weeks before putting it out. I'm still trying to figure out a good system. Everything I tried is okay but not great. I hate having the bags sitting around looking like clutter. Maybe that's why so many of our neighbours never recycle. They must simply throw everything into the trash bin. I suppose you can't expect everyone to get onboard everything.

I hate that it takes up so much space and is so very untidy to try to save things until they are ready to pick them up.
I try to recycle, but in this town...we are lucky if they show up on garbage day...and then they are mad if you have more than a certain number of bags out there...well...if you showed up every time you were supposed to show ....there wouldn't be so much! lol
Happy new year my friend...and since we share a province in common...we really should make the effort to meet for a coffee sometime soon!
I travel from Wainwright to the city a lot...and to Red Deer...and Camrose...so if you are in the mood...let me know...I have GPS and I know how to use it! lol
