In a test kitchen

When Joe sprained his ankle, we swapped emergency medical attention from Kate for a carrot cake for her wedding. So I had the brilliant at the time idea of doing some test cakes before hand so she could taste and select what she likes. I don't know why, but I can't find the old faithful recipe I used when the girls lived at home. So I've been searching for a new one. Poor Joe, he's been trying to eat the one I made last week, but it is so heavy. This morning I whipped up one of Martha's recipes and you know, it's looks light and it baked in the time she said it would. But I haven't tasted it yet...have to take it to Les's tomorrow so she has it for her Ladies night the following week. Now to whip up some icing!
