New day same dilema

You would think that I have considered all options a million times but no. If I did I would have a definitive answer and not be sitting on the fence.  Paint...there that is the cause of so much unrest.

But it's only paint you say...you can unpaint aka strip it if you don't like a painted surface.

But not in this case!

How about a huge orange brick fireplace in a somewhat small room!  There's no turning back when it comes to painting brick!

I love the look of a painted fireplace in a cottagey kind of room.  I don't have that kind of room or furniture.  I just hate the colour of the brick.  I've had the room a beautiful terra cotta....but the entire room glowed in the morning sun, giving the effect that the room was on fire.  (Only Stevie Nicks could make that inviting to me!)

Then I painted the room out a lovely yellow-gold.  Not an 'in your face' colour but something that is quite neutral feeling.  But alas...I'm tired of it and the orange glowing fireplace.

Do I or don't I?  Only I will know when the time feels right.  I survived painting good wood...one of my 101 things to do in 101 days...and I love how the piece turned out.  So do I step outside the box and just go for it?  What is the worst thing that could happen...I absolutely hate it...and then I can resource different options.  Like perhaps moving!!!!

Just kidding girls!

Have you tried that renovation software? It's pretty neat and lets you see how any room or outdoor space will look when make changes. Good luck with the decisions, I'm sure it'll look great no matter what you choose to do!

Good luck in whatever decision you make. I know it is a lot of hard work especially if the end product is not to your liking.

Have a great day!

I've seen brick fireplaces that were painted white and they looked great. Maybe google pics of painted fireplaces and see what you can find. I am sure that it will look great no matter what you decide. You are very talented when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Have you tried looking at home decorating sites? I've often seen rooms with fireplaces in them that were painted. Maybe you could get some ideas. Or, like you say... you can just move. ;-)
