Strange post title so I will address the sadness first. There is a funeral home business in this province that is being investigated. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS My late brother has a client of theirs and because he was buried by the province, I would very much imagine if these alleged infractions occurred, he would have been one of the victims. With no family to oversee and be accountable, he would have been an easy target. For that I am so very sorry. However I can't turn back the clock and change things, how I wish I could have and even gone back further so he would not have died without family around. I am so very pleased that we as a family got him a beautiful monument to celebrate his time in this world.
The progress is a reference to the Centennial Quilt Project. We met and had a wonderful discussion and have a game plan in motion. While we wait for the official launch Feb 7 of the year long festivities and our meeting to learn the parameters of this project...where it will go, how will it hang and what is the maximum size...the research has begun. We know what our centre panel will be comprised of as well ans the tone of the quilt. We have know how we will address interest from the town...we will give them kits of background fabric as well and a fat quarter of the 2 primary colours as well as the block dimension required. They can take these home or back to their group, draft out what they want to do and get to work on it. We have a 'wish list' of sorts of some of the things we would love to incorporate. It is all very exciting and scary at the same time. Thank goodness we have some expert help when it comes to applying for one of the grants available this year.
Our snow is melting so fast, there have been multiple flat roofs collapsing. Luckily so far, no injuries. Yesterday we had freezing rain which created havoc on the highways and sidewalks. I stayed put mainly because my back was just screaming from the unexpected dampness. A day on the heating pad made a world of difference. Hoping my nephew has an uneventful trip today. He had to stop when darkness came in and the wet highways began to re-freeze. Better safe than a statistic.
Until next time...
