GTD anyone?
My whole way of thinking has changed for the better. I can't just sit idly by and not do that next action that I know is only going to take a couple of minutes. I look at my projects with fresh eyes, trying to break them down into next actions which may not take a lot of effort on my part, but yet still keeps the project moving along to completion. This enables me to have several projects underway, all progressing and not stagnating.
I have only scratched the surface of GTD, and have more to learn and implement, but it's not a race...it's a lot of do-able next actions.
Almost ready to go!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes to be passed along to Dad. I'm looking forward to this. We may even have him over to the camper for a ham dinner on Saturday. I think the others will join us on Friday evenng for the official cake cutting!
Now I just hope the mosquitos aren't as bad and that the badlands aren't as hot as I know they can get! I'm still weaning myself out of long pants & shirt sleeves. Yup - those pasty white legs belong to yours truly! Hopefully they aren't beet red with sunburn come Monday either!!!! is there a safe middle ground? Now, did I pack that SPF 30????
Bye for now
Where's my twin?
This would be a great weekend to get those plantlettes I have been growing since late winter into the ground. And the fence needs another coat of stain. A forsythia bush - actually 2 - need to be transplanted, poor things. New shed location need prep work, build the shed, fill the shed. Oh and I need to mow the back before we leave!!!

Up to a challenging read?

This is my latest book on my reading list. I was somewhat skeptical about the title...exactly what did that mean? But it was recommended to me by someone online who knows where my head is right now. My struggle to fit into my day what is important, not just what is urgent. there is a difference. This is a continuation of my research into GTD.
Although it's aimed at 'writers & artists' and their constant struggle with 'Resistance' aka procrastination, it has a lot of valid points that I can recognize in my own day to day life.
I don't want to say too much, but if you have a chance to sign it out of your local library, I'd be interested in hearing your views. I'll be re-reading my copy before returning it.
BTW - it's an easy book to read, lots of half page thought provoking insights.
4 loads to the dump and 1 more on Monday

While the guys...Joe, Steve and Kory took the second last load to the dump beofre it closed, I got some cleaning up done. While doing so, I realized something very important. I was now standing on my new to me' afternoon sun deck area'! Sorry Joe, no shed is going back up here...I really like the view.A very special thanks to Steve and his son Kory for coming over and helping us realize the dream of this A frame shed GONE! My only regret - I didn't push for it sooner!
I hope everyone has as great a great as ours is going!!! Don't forget UFC tonight and we are watching it!
No turning back!

These are before and after photos of the infamous kid's playhouse that we turned into a shed of sorts. The otginal structure had a small 3 foot high door for kif=ds to crawl into. Inside there was a trap door up to the second floor which had a workable plexi glass window complete with bug screen. But this wasn't useful for us...wouldn't we have been the c*t's *ss in grnadparents had we kept it the way it was. Anyways, we cut a u into the second story floor so we could walk in and added the regular lockable door. My lawn mower, Bike and other goodies lived there...until yesterday. Now they are secure all over the back yard while we finish this task.

Coincidence or fluke?
HL & Candice share birthdays, different years, same with Les & Kelsey & Paul and Matt, I had HL the day after my day, as did Monica & Joeye. Doesn't Henry share a day with one of his girls? Who else shares a day? Maybe 365 days just isn't enough...do we need more? I'd be happy if we had more holidays, less bill paying days!
Your thoughts?
Great weekend here...and yours?
Saturday was raining and barely plus 3, but that didn't stop the water rats from getting their tub time! At least that was nice and warm. We all took in a matinee performance of Shrek 3...we all enjoyed...don't know what the movie reviewer missed!
Sunday was foggy but that was soon lifting so the guys squeezed in a game of golf. The little ones got in more tub time. Lunch as an adventure at Chuck E Cheese...the grandparents lost site of the littlest one...good thing his Mommy has sharp eyes.
Nannie & Papa supervised Monday's tub time, which included a rowdy visit from the claw...it was hand to hand combat, some times under water. The shy one even got the mask on and went under voluntarily. I think another day of tub time and he'd be another water baby! Oh well there's next visit to look forward to. The guys then snuck off for another round of golf and we headed to a 'new to us' park.

After a lunch of the kids' favorite - macaroni and leftovers, they packed up and headed home. Seems they almost forgot their lovely dog we affectionately call 'liver lips'...she was sound alsleep on Cody's bed! Finding the house quiet, I put the TV on to our local noon news...only to see photos of the snow that had fallen overnight in the GCA! It was a quick decision not to spoil their weekend and we just let them drive home, unaware that yes, WE DID HAVE THE GOOD WEATHER THIS TIME AROUND!!!!
Thanks for the visit, it was a blast on all levels!

Get ready Aaron & Joe! Phil's coming!
These are some highlights I found online for Phil's new show No opportunity Wasted aka NOW.
Keoghan arrives in Canada this week to interview potential participants on "NOW," as he calls it, a half-hour show that gives people the opportunity to complete a 72-hour, life-changing challenge that involves either conquering a lifelong fear or doing something to benefit others.
"It's exciting to be able to do it in

In each 30-minute episode, two challengers who don't know they've been chosen will be surprised by Keoghan and asked to take on a "NOW" challenge. The show clears their schedules with bosses, families and friends.
Then the two challengers, total strangers with a common goal, work to complete a series of time targets to complete their challenge.

The real truth!

Heather spilled the beans...we goofed big time! I was so worried about forgetting the cake topper, we forgot our dress clothes! We were just outside Calgary when the light bulb went on...so turn around, go back, and do it all over. Of course we were dragging the cake this whole time! And, did we mention it was snowing from Lacombe to Innisfail? Went through it 3 times Friday! But as the saying goes...A crisis is only a crisis if we make it one! And we didn't! It was nice that we can laugh about it. Thanks for holding supper for us Heather,Jeff, Jonathan & Bob!
