Movie Meme

I don't watch a lot of movies but here's my list from the latest meme circling blogland. I have watched the ones in RED (65) . Looking it over, it's rather pathetic - some I seen as a youngster, some with some youngsters...some just because. If there are some titles of the ...er...adult nature...I certainly don't know it...so don't tell me!

Hi Matt!

Thanks for the blog comment. I must however disagree with you...you may have been Matt the Brat in your younger years...but now you are most definitely...Matt the Man!

In my youth I enjoyed being around my parents and bringing my friends to the house. That was important to me and it paid off in spades. Now, with more years under my belt, I really enjoy spending time with our kids & their friends. Some of Lesley's day home kids even call me Nannie when I visit. I can always count on a big hug from Danny & a smile from Zeke!

This brings me to the point in a round about way...it's so nice to get re-acquainted with our nieces & nephews as adults, to see how they have developed into fine caring people with dreams of their own! A loving family is everything even when miles apart!

Great site for fellow gardeners

I just love the Hole family of St Albert. As well as a reknown gardening author, Lois Hole was our provincial Lieutenant governor and we would often see her chatting with folks at their greenhouse. She was known as the Queen of Hugs and is sorely missed since her passing.

I recently signed on to get some more gardening newsletters...one can't be too informed about this sort of hobby! Through one of those I came across Lois's son Jim's website. Take a look, the pod casts are very informative. Now if I can get a weather guru on board, I'd be all set!

Love is in the air! Birthdays too!

Happy Birthday to Paul & Matt...hope you each spend it with someone special in your life!

Joe is busy with work and I'm still recovering from the stomach flu so we will have a quiet evening, perhaps throw a few darts...Joe is up 1 game on me...yes we keep a running total as well as our tons! We do have plans for a movie date sometime next week...Joe loves no neck as he likes to call Sam Elliot...so Ghost Rider it will be. Hope everyone has a great day - spend some time with those important to you!

PS - Make your own candy heart!

Going for a drive home!

This is such a cute photo of Jonathan sitting in his car seat all ready for his return trip home Sunday! He looks so bright eyed, ready for a new adventure. Thanks for visiting Nannie & Papa, Jonathan! Hope to see you in a month or so.

The promise of things to come

These are Manitoba tomatoes which I planted 2 Feb. 9 of the 12 cells have sprouted...none of the 12 green peppers have appeared, but they have a longer germination time. I'll wait another 10 days or so and see what develops.

This is my first try with the Lee Valley Self Watering seed tray...so far I'm very impressed. The next few days will be the true test. In the old cells, I had to be careful not to knock the seedling over with the force of the water...so things were rather messy and slow...now I just keep the bottom tray filled and the wicking fabric does the rest.

Jonathan is coming today!

And Heather & Jeff!

It's going to be fun having another wee one in the house again! Hopefully our cold weather doesn't affect the little guy...wouldn't want him to become sick, especially with portrait day Saturday!

Not sure what all we're going to do except pass the baby, it's my turn to hold him and oh yeah...can I hold Jonathan again! We'll be taking bunches of cute pics, I hope...if I remember to download what I have already and recharge the battery!

OT - Jeremy stayed an extra night with us...there's a better job with more hours starting today...hence the delay to get out. But he did earn his keep yesterday - Joe had him working in the warehouse and the guys took him out to the noodle soup place for lunch! Joe laughed when he said the chop sticks got the better of him! Oh well, we wish him the best today...going towards Cold Lake...small rig camp ~ 20 guys and he's the 2nd cook.

Have a great day...lots of great TV tonight, but I may NO, I WILL be busy with Jonathan!!!!

What's up?

It would appear that interest in updating blogs has fallen to the way side. Possible reasons in my mind...
  • Too busy with life outside blogs
  • Nothing interesting to say
  • Want to keep things private
  • Computer issues
  • On vacation to somewhere exotic
  • Sick as a dawg - pregnant or flu
  • Forgot sign in password
  • Busy buying a house
  • Preparing for a move
  • Company in the house
  • Starting a new business venture
  • Kids!
  • Looking for a new job

I guess it really doesn't matter why some are missing...hope things are good with you!

Thanks Joseph & Alex!

How they knew that their Nannie was just getting into the series 24, is beyond me. And for them to know that I really needed Season 3 is outstanding!

I do realize that we are late getting into this, but I tried to watch a show mid stream and couldn't make head nor tails of it. Joe got me Season 1 & 2 for Christmas. We are in the process of taping Season 6 without watching.... all we really need now is a big honking snow storm that keeps us grounded in the house!

BTW - HL - you can't take season 2 back with you cuz I'm still watching it....now to find a great hiding place! I know a real good one but it's only good for silver dollars!

Thanks again Lesley, Aaron, Joseph & Alex for such a thoughtful birthday present!

Is 2 in 1 month too much????

There are supposed to be 3 big concert announcements today...I just heard the first one and I don't know what to do!

I never got to see him in the driving rain @ Fort Henry with Joe, the girls and some of their wet friends. Tom Cochrane and Red Rider are coming to the Winspear Monday March 12.

This is an awesome venue, we've seen several great performances there...tickets are pretty cheap...a high of $42.50! They go on sale this Friday @ 10:00 am but I will be checking for Beat the Box Office information.

What a great month March could be...a few birthdays, Eric and Tom...whatcha think?

What a game!

The home team won 10-1, I felt bad for The Pontiac's but when I had a chance to study the roster, I realized that the shoe may very well be on the other foot next year. 9 of the 24 Traders will max out age wise this season...so that will mean a huge re-building for the 07/08 season. Still no word on whether they will move to St Albert.

For no other reason than because the Traders were playing our past fave's, Joe bought a program. He never does this but last night he dug into his pocket and then into my pocket to get one. I chuckled that if there was a star he would be the one playing the goofy intermission game on ice.

We found some good seats, I checked the roster sheet while Joe flipped through the program and then came the groan...Joe was selected to play Shoot to win on centre ice at the first intermission! He tried to persuade me to do it and I had a great out - my back was quite sore yesterday! So Joe decided to go back to the program seller and swap it for a non - winner.

When he got there a Dad and young son ~ 8 yrs, were getting a program and mentioned maybe they would win something. Joe asked if they would like to increase their odds by swapping programs...they did.

When the time came, the young fellow with Dad watching from the sidelines, stepped out onto the ice. He was wearing a hockey jacket and the way he carried his stick, you just knew this wasn't the first time he approached a puck. Well didn't he do himself, his Dad and us proud when he slapped that puck straight into the $50 slot on the net! That was our highlight of the game! Joe got a big thank you from Dad at the canteen later...that was the right thing to do!

Silly waste on time!

I found this at Shannon's site , only she calls it 'How to ruin your eye sight...' it's a no brainer that keeps drawing you back in the better your time!

Quiet weekend, groceries, recycle depot, library and tonight we are off to Fort Saskatchewan where the Traders will take on the Bonneyville Pontiacs!

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow...may go for a drive in to work...seems a large piece of office furniture wasn't unloaded like it was supposed to have been! Joe found it still in the truck box...he picked it up Friday morning at the M'ville yard to save another truck making the same trip Joe was making anyways...when he went to put some cardboard etc in the back. He was not a happy camper...trickle down effect....I'm glad I won't be around on Monday when the real fur hits the fan!

Have a great weekend....don't forget...Howie & the first night of the CDN version of DEAL or NO DEAL after the football game! Gee, I didn't see any of my relatives on the contestants list or the list of case beauties! What happened????
